Brights

What gives? My brights won't switch on or off unless I push my steering column all the way down, I can't drive like that, not to mention it won't stay in this position. Anybody got any ideas?

Nope, no loose wires, been under there and it's like the actuator rod is only long enough for when it the steering wheel is at it's lowest. Actually it's gotten worse, it used to just take pulling it just right, now......
Just wondered if anybody else has run into this problem and fixed it.

There is an extension on the dimmer rod. Its made of plastic and get brittle when it gets old. Your dimmer switch directly contacts this rod extension and the plastic rod extension pivots on the actual dimmer rod when the column is tilted. I'd check that. You may also be able to adjust your dimmer switch near the base of the column, it could have been knocked out of adjustment possibly.
