antifreeze tank

I'm about to paint under the hood of my car and was wondering if anyone knows how to take the antifreeze tank and washer fluid tank off.

there is a bolt under the wheel well in the top left corner of the anitfreeze tank. it screws from the underneath up into the tank.

I have an 1987 Firebird, so mine could be different, but....

My 2 reservoirs were just held in with plastic push in pins with retainers. There were 2 on each unit. They are hard for me to describe, but i will try.

They work like the screw retainers you use on sheetrock walls.
There is a pin that slides into a retainer that has legs. It is one unit. As the pin pushes in the legs expand and lock the retainer in place. I just got a screw driver and popped the head back up. When it was backed out fully, the retainer slides out of the hole.

Now I have seen some that have phillips screw heads and you screw them out of the retainer.

On my car, I was able to get to them from above, not from in the wheelwell.

i do not have those kind of tanks anymore,
i removed them and replaced them with one from a 91 Explorer both the antifreeze overflow and washer fluid are combined into one bottle that is about as big as a battery is wide and long
looks great!

But to your original question in my 90 Formula the overflow bottle there is one bolt that needs to got to from the wheelwell.

Kandied91z can you give me a part number for the washer fluid resevior. And is it the one with the fluid pump in it? I tried searching but I couldn't find it. And the number that the Parts and Illustration Catalog gives can't be found on gmpartsdirect.com.
