Plastic Dash Panel Cracks

Does anybody else have these cracks in the plastic
under the dash pad? I would like to replace these
pieces. Dr. Vinyl wants $40.00 to fix all the crack
with some machine he has if I pull the pieces out.

Anyone have any for sale??

THANKS!

If I had those cracks, I'd use a soldering iron on them and then lightly sand and paint.

Using a sodering iron???

Wouldn't getting it fixed professionally or replacing the
panels make more sence???

I have the same stupid cracks. I'm not that worried about it though. I think the junkyard is where I'll go to get new pieces.

My problem is this thing sits for long periods of time, outside.
Here in TX., the weather changes every 10 mins. so...

My car is originally from California. That
could explain the cracks if the car sat outside
everyday in the sun and the interior heated
up and then the panels cracked. Thats
my only idea. I been looking for someone
to sell me new ones but nobody seems
to have them and I also heard its a PITA
to get these things out....

Thanks!

Bill

Mine's an Ohio car, and it lived in a barn for most of its life. My guess is that they are stress cracks - especially because mine's a convertible.

If you pay a professional, you'll not have many cents left. He'll be making all the cents (and dollars).

Rocky383: When I do something for my car I do it professionally
and right the first time. Thats just the way I am. If I am
going to do something its going to be right. Why mess with it
and then have to tear everything back apart cause you screwed
it up or took a chance???

Its just common CENTS
