I had the same thought myself a few years back to paint mine to match. I have a white/silver Z28. I was lucky enough to see another white Z28 that had the T-Top hold down bar in the middle painted white as well as the edge trim pieces on the T-Top. I decided against it. Since the T-Tops are basically black when looking at them from the outside, those white strip really stood out like a sore thumb. Mine was starting to rust so I just replaced mine with a new unit at work. My opinion, black is much better looking. But, to each their own..........

I would think it depends on the cars color. if it is a high contrast to black.. leave them alone. if closer to black then paint 'em.
