FLYIN LOW 88!!!!question for u!

hey i saw some pics in another post of your interior all painted up. i was just wondering how you made those console pieces smmoth? did you just sand off that 'grid'? tell me bout it--what grit etc etc. and i noticed the ash tray isnt painted....how come? is that part hard to do? i plan to do some interior work when i come home for the summer. thanks. evan

Polishing wheel with plastic compound. If you're careful, you dont' even need the plastic compound. Just some regular white or red will do.

I used a palm sander to take mine off it worked great.

Yeah I just hand sanded it...not sure what grits, bnut I did three stages. I used like an 80 first, to take off the grid pattern, then like a 250 to remove gouges from the 80, then like a 500 or 800, cant rmember. Then cleaned it and primer/paint. I recommend you get a paint to plastic promotor...basically a primer for plastic
