sand/painting rear window louvers
sand/painting rear window louvers
so i spent last night sanding down my louvers, then priming them, then painting with flat black as someone suggested on the board here. umm.. well the paint turned out looking more like GREY then black. is that what flat black is supposed to look like? i thought it was just black without the shine. I'm thinking of redoing it with jet black or black glossy. the reason i didn't want the shine was because i thought it would make all the little imperfections show.. but since it came out looking like a dark grey.. i figure try the glossy black? i used sears enemal spray paint.

Yeah, try using more coats of flat black. If that doesn't work, I would recommend trying this: Use gloss black paint, but hold the can around 1-1.5 feet away from the surface while painting. This way, the paint is more dispersed once it reaches the surface and there is less "gloss". Note: The paint will be used up more quickly, so you may want to buy twice as much. However, if done correctly, it will look really good. But, just my 2cents.
