how fat of a tire could i fit on a formula 16X8 rim and still have turning clearance?

how fat of a tire could i fit on a formula 16X8 rim and still have turning clearance?

i want to get 255's or 245's on the back......would those work out ok?
and i wanted get 245's or 235's on the front.....depending on whether or not my car will have a problem when i turn

You can put 255's all around and not really have problems. I have them, and the only rubbing is when the wheel is cut all the way...

I have 255's also just be carefull with the pot holes and when you turn the wheel ALL the way
