Slotted/cross-drilled rotors (Anyone besided baer/wilwood?

Like the subject says. My rotors have had it and I would love to upgrade to a cross-drilled/slotted rotor. I cant afford wilwood/baer and was wondering if there were some affordable alternatives. Know of any good companies/suppliers?

Links, phone #'s, input appreciated.

BTW ive got a 1992 Z28 with 4 wheel disc for what it matters...

The cheapest and easiest to get are the ones from Auto Zone.
I think they are the Aimco "extreme" rotors. They are both drilled and slotted.

Go to www.autozone.com

Register, and type in your car year and model then search for brake rotors.

Raybestos also makes stock replacement drilled and slotted rotors.... They run about $100 each and can be had at parts stores like Checker.....

Here is a pic of a Auto Zone Extreme rotor. It's not a 3rd gen rotor, but it shows you what it looks like.

I'm running Powerstop cross drilled rotors with Powerstop pads on the front.

It seems to stop really good so far. I forget what the price was, but they were relatively cheap. You can pick them up from Summit Racing.

PS: My brother works at Autozone, and he says those rotors are sorta cheap. Better than a stock set, but still not that great. They tend to crack easy. But thats just one opinion...don't let it change your mind.

Here's pics of my setup.

Well, I didn't want to comment on the auttozone issue and **** everyone off, but since Tunedport touch on the issue first, here goes-

The Autozone rotors are crappy quality metal- you get what you pay for. The A/C delco units and the Powerstop/Powerslot rotors are top notch quality and will outperform the autozone units under heavy heat situations.

You guys are buying performance rotors I assume so you can push your cars harder- then buy the better quality rotors or you will warp them fast. And to the guys that will post the b.s info again about "you can't warp rotors" come take alooky at some rotors that I can put on a lath cold and they are ture- but then heat them and spin 'em on the same lath and watch the waddle like a duck. Metal has memory under heat- Thank you.

Dean.
p.s- always turn even "new" rotors out of the box- With the excetion of Powerslots! I have never seen a set of theirs that are not PERFECT out of the box.

no, please feel free to say what you like!

i have the reciepts to prove what i paid for them and they were alot more then that. it was 575 for all four rotors from gm.

seeing as how they have hardly any miles should i ask the full price for them?

I personally don't sell used brake parts- I'm giving away some perfectly good front drilled rotors (never been turned, and are not grooved at all) to one of the board members- but thats me.

personally, my plan is to swap to LS1 front discs, then when i get more money, im going to eradispeed rotors..

with a 4thgen disc rear, i can have "LS1" brakes all around, with eradispeed rotors, and stop ALOT quicker... and it would look alot better when i have open rims that let you see the brakes....

Ive got powerstop drilled rotors and pads i think the company that makes them is named Autospeciality. They are good and dosent cost too much. I got mine from Summitracing.

i know you are going to take this the wrong way but here i goes anyway, i am not worreid about offending you.

they are only worth that much to YOU. anyone of us could buy them for under $90 a peice, why would anyone want to pay MORE than that for a used set because you were willing to pay that much for them?

Used rotors (not grooved or warpped- never turned) that I am giving away to KED85 of these boards- all he has to do is come pick them up. I used them for less than 6 months and switched to slotted rotors in the front for diffferent chassis braking balance effects.

Again- I don't "sell" used brake parts.

very nice of you but i don't throw money out the window. especially if things aren't used for very long. the gm rotors are too expensive to just give away. but to each their own.

and neither does anyone on this board, but you are trying to sell $172 worth of parts (when new) for $200 (used).

no....

look how much it would cost to ship them. then figure on how much they are new and how much i'm selling them for.

140 for 2 unlike that much for 1 with only 1,000 or so miles is a hell of a deal. if you can get them 80 shipped to your door then more power to you. i purchased mine on discount and they were still more then that. there is no point in draging this through the mud. i have reciepts for what i bought and i'm asking half price from what i paid let alone what the average joe would have had to.

no one is forcing anyone to buy anything and as most people know on the board here i'm the last person to rip some one off. if you can get it cheaper then employee discount then more power to you but purchase them first and get the fact straight. you can't get the rotors i have for that cheap.

sure thing. here you go.

GM Part # Description Qty Unit Price S&H Approx TOTAL

18038517 ROTOR 1 $86.43 $17.29 $103.72

18038518 ROTOR 1 $86.43 $17.29 $103.72

that is $207.44 total, shipped, done deal. BRAND new GM rotors.

i'm the last person to rip some one off.

i've been here how long and never heard of gmpartsdirect??? right! It never once ran through my mind that someone might look up the prices there. use your head.

very true that some things are cheaper there than what a discount could even get you. however, often times then not the taxes and shipping will almost even things out and then your lucky if you get your items. nothing wrong with trying it of course. afterall if you can save a buck go ahead and try right?

Dewey316, your one of the last people i ever thought would act this way. Say what you will but seeing as how i'm asking considerably less then what i paid for them which includes the shipping how can one say i'm ripping anyone off? in fact anyone who has ever emailed me about them has been directed to gmpartsdirect to see the prices. your making pointless statements about something that isn't necessary all for what reason? go become a troll somewhere else, this is just another thing the board doesn't need.
