LS1 rear brakes?
I have been reading about swapping the rear brakes on my 92 to LS1 rear discs. I will probably try to find a disc rearend at the auto recycling center and do the conversion off the car. It seems easier and that way I can drive the car at the same time.
My questions are:
For those who have done this, how is the swap? How does the car stop? Would you recommend this swap to someone?
What about parts? Can high perf. pads be used? What about drilled rotors?
Can any late model, C5 vette parts be used instead, like the caliper? If so, does anyone know the part number?
Thanks
Any thing anyone wants to add, please do so...

Stopping power isn't much different from the earlier style PBRs, except the LS1 rotors are thicker. The main difference is the better drum type ebrake.
Yes, any pad for an LS1 can be used. I have Hawk HPS pads. I opted for the solid rotors, but any LS1 slotted or drilled rotors like Eradispeed rotors can be used. LS1 rear caliper braided lines can be used too. Dunno about Vette parts.

How is the swap? Difficult, not to bad? Also did you go from drum or disc to LS1 brakes? I am not sure if going from discs is easier, seems like it would be...Thanks

Swap is easy. If you have disc already, everything will bolt right up. Drum rears have to be hacked and drilled.

I read the tech article a while ago. When I reread it the other day I noticed that it didn't say anything about swapping from stock discs. That is why I posted. I was thinking it may be easier to swap from discs to the LS1 brakes. Guess I was right. Thanks for all the info guys...
