Not the problem you would want at 3 in the morning! Please Help!

Transmission: 700R4 Tuned Shift 2600 Stall

Not the problem you would want at 3 in the morning! Please Help!
Hey guys,
Me and my buddy were putting new brakes on his car last night and found the rotors to be grinding on the calipar mounting brackets. Upon closer looking we found the brake is cocket and not mounting flat on the hub for somereason. After we bolt the wheel down proper star patern and everything and it still wont seat flush. Niether front rotor will work right, any ideas?
Pleas give us a hand any other questions please let me know, any more information needed just ask. I feel sort of responsible for getting his brakes working right, please help me make things work right.

If they are the front rotors you're talking about... you have to replace (well remove and reinstsall anyways) the wheel bearings. If you aren't doing this properly, the rotor won't sit flush. Then again, you said the rotor won't sit on the hub flat, so you could be talking about the back brakes (or a different car!
).
If you bought new rotors when you re-did the brakes, verify they are correct for that year/model of car..

It is the front that we are having the problem with im not sure if i am using the wrong name for something but the dist sits on the studs against the "hub" right then when you tighten down the wheel it flattens everything out and sandwitches the disk between the "hub" and the wheel, right? The problem we are having is the rotor is getting cocked when we try to tighten it down so it has inconcistant clearence betwen the two sides of the calipar mounting bracket and about a quarter of the way around the disk face grinds against the mounting bracket.

Will need to turn down the OD of the hub. A large chamfer on the front OD of the hub can also help. This will allow the rotor to sit flush on the face of the hub.

Well we got it. there was this wierd ridge on the inside of the rotor that was getting in the way. we brought it to our local machine shop and had them machined, then they went on just fine.
