Ive been doing some research on upgrading my brakes and ive noticed most kits out there are only for 84+ cars.

What is the difference with the 82 & 83 cars that makes the kits not work?

Also what is the best bang for the buck upgarde for an 82 z28 with discs & drums?

How hard is it to swap to discs in the rear?

 

In 82 and 83 the brake fittings were all SAE, in 84 and up they were all metric. If you replaced everything with metric parts, you could do anything that you could on a newer car.

 

Baer sells i think the Track kit for the rear brakes on early thirdgens. it comes with single piston alumin calipers, brackets, hoses, i think 2 piece rotors, all for just over $800 the rotors are i think 11 or 12''.

im thinkin about gettin that kit for my 82 mainly becuz i want disks and want bigger brakes at the same time. but not sure since ill be puttin a moser 12 bolt in the car im not sure if they will just bolt up the same.
