Right front brake caliper is locked up,How do i fix this?

My 82 Firebird has been sitting for awile,And when i went to drive it about a week ago,I noticed the car going slower and slower on my way back to the house,And i started smelling the brakes from all the heat build-up.By the time i got back to the house,The front right brake was on fire! I put out the fire,But now i was wondering what has to be done to unlock the front brake,Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Go to a parts store and get a rebuilt one, they're about $15 with a $10 core...easy fix.

I had the same thing happen with my drivers side front caliper. Exceprt no fire. Anyway a replaced the hose and the problem was erased. Since then, both of the front hoses have been replaced with braded stainless pieces. Excellent brake feel

What they are talking about Amaroz28 is the flexible brake hose being defective and causing the problem that you and many others (including myself) have experienced. The hoses will get old and collapse internally and block fluid from getting to the brake caliphers or will trap fluid in them and not release the brakes. On the outside the flexible hoses will look fine and be clogged on the inside. Mine happened while doing 65 MPH on a country road, touched the brakes and car did an abrupt 90 degree turn to the left. fortunately for me the road was wide and no traffic at the time.
