Painting the calipers I can see. Painting the drums, well, that's liks saying "hey look at my less-than-desirable-rear-brakes." That's my opinion.

I have painted my drums black. I just did it because the friction material on my drums were in good condition, but the outside surface has seen better days, and looked like they were just rusting away
. They really stood out when the sun hit them. One thing I have seemed to notice though, is that painting the drums black actually seems to take attention away from the drums, and more towards the wheel, not sure what red would do.
I don't have any pictures at the moment, but I can get some up by tomorrow.

if you're gonna paint the drums, do them in flat of semigloss black..that way they'll look good but still not screaming for attention.

I've seen 4thgens with drums painted white, yellow, (both looked stupid as hell) but never black. If the wheels really show the drums, painting them would probably be better.

im gonna paint them gunmetal-grey, that would look much better imho.

I've painted all my calipers red. I don't have any good pics though, and my salad shooters aren't the most revealing design.
I've found what works very well is DupliColor sandable black primer. A few coats of that and let it dry. Then use "Chrysler Red" Duplicolor spray paint a few coats (make sure primer is dry!!). Make multiple LIGHT coats. Then install when dry. The brake caliper heat bakes the paint on there and it doesn't scratch easily, you can actually wipe it quite roughly to get any brake dust off.

Here's a picture of my drums. There just painted flat black. I like the flat black look, because they don't looked rusted or old, yet they don't really stand out either.

I know the wheels aren't in great shape, but I'm working on it.

I can get some tomorrow if I remember. Hopefully it won't be too dark to get pics by the time I'm off work. I have black-painted salad shooters on my car, but you can at least see the calipers a bit better than the black mesh TA wheels I had.
