Brake upgrade for 82-92 brakes on 67 chevy ll
Guys I have a 67 chevy ll with 82-92 camaro strut set-up. I am running the stock rotor and stock caliper on front with a PBR set-up on the rear on a 9".I have a masterpower 8" powerbooster and master cylinder. I am running American Racig torque thrust ll 16".
I would like to upgrade the braking. I have read for a few hours on past topics and understand that there are some fitment issues with stock wheels.
What are my options other than Bear or Wilwood? I would like to keep my wheel in as close as possible.
I have read a few of you make parts an/or kits. Tell me what you have also.

Since you're running 16" wheels you can choose from these brakes:
12" 1LE
12" C4s
12" LS1s
13" C4 HDs
Those or a pricier Baer or SSBC setup which will give you the same brakes essentially. The HDs may fit you wheels, I'm not sure. I run them and they fit my stock 16" alloys.

I think when I did the back that they were 1lE brakes I put on the back. I ordered a loaded set-up. I redrilled the caliper mounting plate that I ordered from Moser for the 9" pattern.
I will go back to read the post, but would you mind telling me what I would need to do a LS1 and the 13" C4 HD set-up? I thought I read that one of the rotors is thinner which would be good for me.
Thanks for the help!

All of these upgrades are pretty much the same: You'll need modded spindles, custom hubs and brackets, and then all the brake stuff. The LS1s are a tighter fit to the spindle and take a LOT of time to clearance to ensure everything moves smoothly without interference, and that's one reason I don't really like them. The other is that the LS1 caliper has been known to spread a little when worked harder than street use and I've never heard of the HD or C5 calipers doing that. The LS1 gives you a 12" x 1.25" thick rotor, the C4 HDs give you a 13" x 1.1" rotor so neither are really thin, it's just that the HDs will push the wheel out further than the other setups do due to the different hub needed. Not a big issue really. I recommend the HDs in a 16" wheel.

Last question......... I hope! Who on this board sales a bracket for the LS1? I really need to keep my tire in so this would be the best for me.
Anybody using the Z06 brakes or can they be used? I know where so parts are.

Z06 = C5 brakes. They need a 17" wheel which is why I don't want to convert to them. I don't want to lose the option to put my 16" snow tires/wheels on.
I'm tempted to do the LS1 swap because parts are more plentiful, but the extra carefulness needed isn't too appealing and I'd much rather have 13" brakes to help fill up my 17" vette wheels in the front. As it is right now, I have 12" discs in the back which will get 18" rims and 10.5" drilled/slotted brakes up front under 17" wheels.
