My stupid rachet mechanism J65 rear calipers bout gave me a stroke due to the undue stress of always fooling with them. So i dug out my grinder and employed the use of my bench grinder and put 2 drivers side calipers on the 9 bolt rear and its working fine, had a little trouble getting sone of the old fittings to mate with eachother but I also used front rubber brake lines. i have no e brake but hey I have a manual tranny you may have to use an adj valve depending on your master cylinder. Just a project update HAPPY WRENCHING! oh and say no to **** burners and alternative music...long live camaros and eddie van halen!

C5/Z06 13inch in the rear and the new Z06 14inch up front.

but with all the kits out there for the back its prob not worth the effort to mess with it.

 

yeah i know but come to think of It I never had a car where the e brake actually functioned properly, maybe its my beer budget and champagne taste oh tell me what y'all think of this car and see if anything you see is different

thats not my car, but that car has a camaro doghouse and a firebird body, thats what I'm going to do to mine hopefully it will turn out as well. AS for the brake swap, on the bottom of the piston housing there are these bumps cast into them, you have to grind them off to where the housing is round. Then onto the axle housing brackets, you may have to hog them out and make them a little more deeper for the calipers belly to fit through, th key is to get to where the caliper bolts will go in straight without having to force them into position, the rear caliper fittings wont work and don't try to grind them to fit, I used the front rubber hoses and some parts store brake line to go from the T to each caliper, seems to be working good so far, this is the first car i built from scratch and Lemme tell you if you have never done it, do it and if you have never done it, don't do it lol, once you will do it you will understand what i mean
