Bearings and Races in new rotor
Probably a stupud question, but I have a brand new rotor and the races are already in it. Do i need to tap those out and install the races that came with the new wheel bearings. Someone said they are mated specific to the bearing. I dont want to have to tap out the Races and and put new ones in if its going to be the same.
My thought is i just put the bearings in and go with it.

No...just pack your new bearings and install them in the rotor, those races are the same.

Thanks Ed, just wanted to be sure.
One other thing thats has me concerned. When i took the old rotor off, there was this flat thin rubber ring stuck to the very inside of the spindle at the knuckle. The bearing seals were still on the back of the rotor when i removed it and There is a rubber ring inside it, which looks similar to this new seal i have.
So whats this ring? I'm thinking it was part of the original seal, but my new one doesnt have one?

Is your dust shield in place? If not, that flat seal goes between the spindle and the dust shield. No biggie..You will need an inner seal for your rotor though.

AH ! yes that makes sense. The dust shield is off! I'm going to re-use the flat seal between dust shield and spindle then.
Yes i have inner bearing seal #8871 , I decided on the Federal mogul stuff instead of Timken.
Thanks again. The dealership has my spring isolators in so going to pick those up and tonight i put the right side back together, springs, struts, tie rods , sway bar endlinks , rotor/ bearings and brakes , THEN Move to the left side.
