LS1 or LT1 brakes fit in a stock rim?
Im buying a 12 bolt rearend for my 89 GTA with 16"wheels and need to upgrade my brakes to an lt1 or ls1 setup. Will the lt1 or ls1 brakes fit inside my stock rim with no modifications except the rearend needs the caliper backing plates obviously. Also will i need a new e brake and does that require any modification to be installed in the vehicle?
Are there any other issues i might run across that u more experienced guys have faced when doing this, and what are the advantages and disadvantages to the lt1 or the ls1 setup?
Thanks

Yes the LS1 and LT1 rear brakes will fit under a stock rim. If you are buying an aftermarket rearend made for a thirdgen it will have the same backing plate mounts as a 10-bolt so you can use the stock mounting brackets. The LT1 brakes are essentially the same as the PBR 89+ thirdgen brakes. The LS1 brakes need some work to make the parking brake work.
