Distance?

Hey guys, tried this in the rear end section, they said to try here, so here goes. I have a rear end that I want to put disc brakes on, it's a ford 9 inch, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me the distance between the axle flange and the backing plate on the axle? Thanks, I'm hoping to use a third gen brake setup....
Thanks again
Tim

The backing plate bolts directly to the axle tube flange, so the distance between them is pretty microscopic...

I mean the distance between the axle flange... the part on the axle itself and the mounting pad to the backing plate, the part on the axle tube.

GM 10-bolts on 3rd gens are a 2.75" offset from axle flange surface to housing flange surface.

Fords 9" rears can be either a 2.50" offset of a 2.36" offset base on the style of bearing flanges you have on the housing.
