Stiffer brake lines?

I've read a few threads about replacing stock rubber brake lines with braided steel for a stiffer feel and it'll last longer. I can't really find a definite answer on whether its acceptable for a daily driver or a worthy investment. If so, are there any preferred brands and places to order?

They're definitely worth the money. I went with the Earl's lines too, and got them from Summit. I've heard bad things about the fittings used on Russell lines so you should probably stay away from those.

I believe the Earl's lines are even DOT approved.

I wouldn't say they last longer, its just you cant see it deteriorating under the braiding so most assume all is fine. Actually, you should replace them as often as regular hose (course most don't usually replace those till they're leaking. )
