Steel Braided Lines?

Are there any kits to replace the original rubber brake hoses with steel braded lines?

If not, does anyone have a BOM for an '86 with 4-wheel disc?

Earl's has a 5 piece set for disc brakes. It does the 4 wheel lines and the hard line to T on the rear for the rear brakes. I've been very happy with them. I've been using them for a year and a half. I believe this is the one you'll need from Summit Racing

Beware! This can be a deadly swap.

Steel braided lines look cool but BEWARE!! They could fail. The Russel "DOT approved" unit I used broke at the end. The stock unit can not bend or wiggle till it fractures as the end pieces are billet one piece units. The Russel aftermarket unit is two piece with play and mine eventually fractured!!

Found picture http://www.camarotech.com/brakes.html
(see end of page)

Please note in your posts if the steel braided unit you are using has one piece end fittings or not. I would like to find a safe line to use.

Do not use Russel, they are notorious for failing one way or another. Use Earl's or Goodridge, they are good.

I have Earl's on two of my cars (91 & 92 Formulas) and love them. One is a drag car and one is a street car. Never had a problem with them
