Hey guys, I blew one of the rear lines from the T-hose to the drum on my 89. What size brake lines are these and approx. how long of pre-flaired straight line should I get for the left and right sides?

Thanks!

I am not sure if the '89 cars had different rear fittings than the '87 cars, but here's the best help I can give.

I know that '89 was the cutoff year for the thead pitch change on the propertioning (combination) valves and they have pre-89 and post 89. So '89 cars were some old style pitch threads, some new style pitch threads, but again, I think that only pertained to the front of the car near the combo valve.

Anyways, when I converted my rear brake setup from drums to disc I needed a new shorter hardline that ran from that "T" fitting to the drivers rear caliper. I bought this line directly from the in-store supplies at Autozone and the fitting size screws directly into the "T" fitting. Look for this part # and then another line with the same fittings but just longer length for the length you need. You'll most likely need one about 26-30" long instead of the 20" line I show below

Its the part# in the green box below

Hey sixtyV6!

Thanks for the info. I found the 4.762 means 3/16 line. The dude at Auto Zone took me in the back to find the right line and I came out with a 30 inch piece. After bending it exactly like the original, the length was perfect, no cutting or flairing was needed. The car stops like a champ again with it's 1LE fronts and drum rears.

You the man!
