Brake Problems with '88 GTA
Hi guys - hope someone can help here...
I've just picked up an'88 GTA - the guy who owned it has only done 3-400 miles in the last 4 years and it's stood outside for some time.
When I got it, it would initially pull to the right when you hit the brakes, then brake straight. I've replaced the front pads (which were rusted!!!) and will be replacing the front calipers and rotors as well as fitting Earl's hard lines (if Year One ever bothers to ship them to me!)
I'm having problems bleeding the system though - the front left took ages to get the air out of but ran clean eventually. I'm trying to do the RHR and am not getting any flud coming through - I've had a friend pump the brakes for nearly 1/2 hour solid with no fluid at the bleed screw! The master cylinder is full so I know it's not that it's run empty and pulled more air into the system.
Does anyone have any ideas???
Thanks in advance!

Take the bleed screww all the way out.It could be rusted closed from sitting. If you still dont get fluid, take it aprt at the next fitting in line. There is a blockage somewhere.

Thanks guys!
The car itself isn't bad - all the iron parts underneath are a bit rusty (i.e. axle, anti-roll bars etc) but nothing too bad - it's only got 67k miles on it and had just had a new engine out of an '86 Corvette with the alloy heads, an uprated cam and slight overbore...
The rear bleed screw does look real rusty so if nothing else I'll replace it when I fit the new braided lines - really annoyed as I've got EVERYTHING I need to do the upgrade and Year One are keeping me hanging...
Is it worth me bleeding the booster first just to be on the safe side??

If you did not replace the booster and did not run it dry, I would leave it be until other things (bad rubber line or other blockage) are ruled out.

That's my plan...
I've replaced the front calipers, pads and lines and flushed new fluid through.
Next step will be the rear lines and I think I'll replace the bleed screws whilst I'm at it to be on the safe side.
The LHSF caliper was unbelievable - no wonder it was pulling to the right...the caliper was rusted out and the seal was ripped!
