4th gen rear disk brakes
So, the 4th gen camaro and c5 vettes have the same rear brakes right? I want to do a full z06 swap and was wondering if the c5 caliper and rotor will bolt onto the ls1 caliper mounting bracket and ebrake assembly. It's easier to find a wrecked 4th gen than c5.
Thanks,
Brandon

As far as I know the 93-97 4th gen rears had lt1 rear brakes and 98-up had the ls1s which would also mount the c5 brakes. I might be wrong on that though. The difference in years is that the 98-ups have ls1 brakes that have an integrated drum parking brake housed inside of the regular brake rotor.

Never mind, figured it out. The rotors will not go on without a spacer but the caliper should go on the ls1 rotor. We'll see.

the calipers themselves are the same, is the abutments that are different. which however are interchangeable between the calipers. so if you have a ls1 rear, you can use ls1 rotors/pads/abutments and c5 calipers

The calipers may have some very slight differences in them but will apparently bolt up the same. I'm also working with some S10 guys on installing LS1 and C5 brakes on their trucks and depending on the model, the calipers may also bolt right in.
Also, I would not use a spacer to move the rotor out from the axle flange, only move the brake calipers and carriers around.

I read a thread that said the offsets were different and there was a lot you had to do to get it work right. I figure i might as well just go ls1 in the rear and c5 in the front and powdercoat them to match. The difference probably wouldn't be very great in stopping performance, just longevity.
