polish/paint factory calipers/blue -vs- red?

I'm going to be tearing into my toasted brake system next month and am in the process of pulling together parts and info first.

The "SEARCH" feature is currently broken or I'd run a search first: However; has anyone had any luck grinding and polishing the factory calipers for a better paint presentation? If so, what grinding methods/materials worked best??

Also, has anyone picked a different color than Red for powdercoating??? I've got a Black 88 IROC with double discs; I'd like to start introducing some blue accents to the color scheme but am unsure if it'll work with calipers. Any thoughts or pic's out there in Camaro Land???? Thanks, Nitro

RE: Adding extra sharp detailing to our stock brake calipers...

Thanks for the info nudge, I'll head on over there right away and check it out. I know red and yellow are pretty standard. I suppose I could just pull the wheels on one side, hit the calipers with a rattle can to get a quick visual. I wonder if there's enough room on these stock units to add lettering; such as: IROC or SS? Nitro

That's not a bad looking color.... Do you think it's more of a 'Candy' color???? I should just print it out and take it down to my local powdercoat store and see what the have to say. MAJOR Thanks for taking the time and effort to post that link. It is greatly appreciated!!!

If you find a bright blue it would look good I'm sure. If you need someone to do the powdercoat work for you shoot me a PM.

That blue color looks awesome! As long as it goes with your car I say DO IT.
