Rear drum tweak

Anybody ever put on a larger wheel cylinder and use both long shoes instead of the shorter primary shoe ?
Wheel cylinder was 3/4 to a 7/8 ? Cost all of $45.00.

This is on a S10 p/u and I just can't bring myself to put a larger rear disc rotor out back than what is on the front. Front is 10.5. Cheap front factory S10 upgrade is a 98-up blazer but it is only 10.75. Two piston caliper has only 4% more surface area than the single piston setup already on there....Change spindle and have to put expensive 205.00 each sealed bearing blazer hubs to do the swap. Screw that, not worth it and I am not going to upgrade wheels, 15" factory wheels will stay. So I put some HAWKS HPS pads on front and called it "upgraded". LOL

Cheap factory 98-up S10 rear discs are 11.5 rotor diameter. Very small piston, I haven't got one to measure yet. I just hate to have larger rotor out back, seems backwards like one of my firebirds which will be cured shortly.

There is a few oddball companies that make 10.5 rear rotor size disc kits. I like the 10.5 size to match my front rotor but they always use a caliper that you have to make up a custom parking brake cable or the caliper is not a good match to the front. Considering this is a V-6.

I am not going to spend 800 dollars like at SSBC so unless some of you know a cheap alternative 10.5 rear disc kit out there I am going to put the larger wheel cylinders and use a long primary shoe to go with the standard long secondary shoe. This should be a noticable increase and cheap. Only concern is the light rear end of the truck and ABS. I hate it when the ABS kicks in.

Thx for letting me ramble and this same technique could be used on any drum brake thirdgen for a nice improvement on the cheap. In fact it may work better on the thirdgen since we all know how bad the rear brake bias is on our cars.

Just for the record I don't want one of those delco moraine 10.5 setups, I have one they suck.
