Just redid my front brakes. Just wanted to let everyone know that if you have a Z28 and you buy outer wheel bearings from autozone or oreilly's they will give you the 1LE outer bearings. Dont know why but their computer equates Z28 with 1LE (as far as outer bearings go).
So if you have a Z28 and non-1LE, just tell them its an RS and you'll get the right ones.
One more thing (if it matters). The Timkins you get at autozone have plastic races, while the Federal-Mogul ones at Oreilly are metal. Dont know if it matters, but that is what i observed.

Did they call them "Performance Package" or did they say z/28. Every parts store I have ever dealt with, has 1LE stuff, listed as the "Performance Package" brakes.

I ran into this at CarQuest, the outer bearing as listed for a Z/28 is the 1LE bearing.

LOL and for the 2.8L they give you the wrong outer bearings too. Had to fire up the moped to go get the right ones.

Interesting.
Is this maybe a phenomenon of mentally handicapped parts people?
I have bought parts from Advance, Autozone(only when no other choice:-)) and Carquest(preferred by far) and have always gotten the correct parts.
I own 2 91(GTA and Formula) with normal brakes and an 89 TTA with the 1LE on the frt.
I have always come up with the right parts and a difference in parts listing for the normal vs 1LE brake pieces/parts.
At autozone I have directly compared the listings and at Cartquest I get to use the computer(hey i buy a lot of stuff) and have verified that the listings exist and are different.
Maybe something is screwed up on the Camaro listings and not the Firebirds? I wouldnt think so, but dumber things have happened. Someone personally verify the Camaro info between the two brake setups and let us know, or I will try and check it out next time I get parts.
Or something has been screwed up on parts listing update perhaps?
