4th gen ebrake work in 3rd gen?

I am getting a complete 4th gen rear with brake lines and ebrake assembly. Mine is broke and I can't find a cable anywhere. Will I have fitment issues, or is this a simple bolt-in thing? All the cables are coming with it.

no the factory thirdgen cable wont work.. neither will the stock 4th gen cable.

you can modify the stock 4th gen cable to fit tho, there was a good thread on how to do this... else u could buy new parking ebrake cables that will work. i had the link with all the information saved in my favorites in my dorm computer, but i'm at class right now.. so whenever i get back up to my place, i'll post the link

else just do a search for 4th gen rear swap, and 4th gen rear ebrake and i bet you'll find it

So I will have to modify it a bit. I believe it will all be 4th gen lines.

Here's a simple solution - read this thread and check out the link on post #10 from me for a pic of these clamps.

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tran...rear-swap.html

Use these wire rope clamps - get the cables from the 4th gen rear up to the 3rd gen cables in the tunnel, and clamp the two cables from 4th gen rear to the two cables from the car with these clamps pictured, then test ebrake - when you have it working well, tighten really well and cut off excess cable ends - it's all tucked up where no one would ever see it, and it's simple, and quite effective. I crossed my 4th gen cables over the diff, as the 4th gen cables are longer than 3rd gen cables (I got an 2000 LS1 rear). The clamps are at Home Depot in hardware aisle, in stainless steel, for cheap (less than $10) - use two clamps on each wire as a safety measure.

Every other part a direct bolt in - you'll need the proportioning valve from a rear disc car as well.

Sorry no pics of my cable job - my digital cam crapped out on me.
