newb to brakes in need of calipers

My old original calipers have had it and i dont want to put another heavy steel caliper back on it. What is an affordable and effective oem style upgrade caliper? Could i just put some aluminum GM calipers on?

fronts or rears, well either way yes, but will require some modifying the fronts to fit aluminum calipers, or upgrading the rear axle to 89-92 or 4th gen or adding adding different rear backing plates. so no to slaping on better calipers
