PBR/9 bolt swap= wheel hitting caliper???

I just got around to boltin up my 16" IROC wheels to the new 9 bolt/PBR setup and noticed that the driver side rear wheel is just barely rubbing against the caliper, and the passenger side is a little too close for comfort. I remember seeing somewhere on here, or in the parts catalog, where the IROC wheels had spacer. Is this the reason? I cannot figure out why its hitting, I could probably grind some off (it looks like its just hittin the fins), but Id rather not. ANyone help me here?

The spacer came with drum brakes. I've completed the PBR swap on my IROC and I experienced no fitment issues with my stock 16's.

Well for some reason mines hitting, or I guess I should say rubbing a good bit. Anyone have anyidea as to what caused this? Im also wondering if its a slightly bent axle, in which case Ima be pissed

That is a bit strange, considering those brakes should fit with stock 15s even.

Do you think it could be a bad axle? I mean worse comes to worse I can put some washers or a plate behind the wheel to space it out enough to turn, put it up on jackstands and run it to see if its wobboling. But Im not 100% sure thats the problem. I mean its barely hitting it, just enough to take the paint off. But its hitting nonetheless.

sounds like that is whats going on. that or perhaps you used the wrong bracketry or somthing. i have 15"s (for now) on my GTA with no fitment issues with my 9bolt/PBR brakes. aftermarket 15"s not stock

From your description, something seems to be putting the calipers too far outward.

Whatever the problem, I'd attempt to fix it correctly rather than to doctor the situation with spacers.

Wow, ok so I might be taking a week off or working cars.....

Turns out there is a difference between INSIDE and OUTSIDE pads. Had em swapped, one of em has humps on it that rides on the piston, and it wasnt, pushing the caliper outwards. Note to self: Check EVERTHING before you start going out and pricing axles lol. Thanks for your help guys, I never even would have thought to check that out.
