4 wheel disc on 84'

I have an 84' trans am with the j65 option. I am about fed up with these things as i can never get the rears to work. Ive read about the recall kit and wondered if it really fixes them or not. Is there a better way to go like a bolt on caliper kit or anything i can do to make my old ones work right? I dont have a whole lot of money, but if i remember correctly, the recall kit is around 60 bucks and if that fixes em, than im all there. Ive also read about doin something to the stock proportioning valve to get more pressure to the rears. Shoot me some ideas yall, cuz if have to many close calls with these things, especially when its rainin and you gotta miss a new escalade that pulled out in front of you and you aint got no insurance, lol.

Try the kit. I did and experience no problems afterward.

Yes, the kit works. I've had it in my car for 6 years now.

I don't remember how much it was, sorry. There's a design flaw on the original calipers, the springs aren't strong enough.

*#&%!

I had the campaign done to my '83 T/A and nothing changed. The rear brakes are krapola, the E-brake takes a good tug to hold and can jump off sometimes. I've drove rice grinders with better brakes and this is supposed to be a top performing WS6 supercar. The rear discs on mine still have swirl marks in the surfaces from the original machine off the assembly line at 62,000 miles! I would be very interested to know more about the proportioning valve and caliper setup on these cars as mine doesn't work either.
Thanks,
Lew
