Slightly different big brake upgrade
It's probably been done, but here is a 13" (1.10 thick) 1996 corvette rotor with a Wilwood forged superlite 4 x 1.75" piston caliper. The hub assembly is the stock part with the rotor machined off and turned down to 5.900. The stock caliper ears are cut off the upright, and two of the dust shield holes were enlarged to 1/2-20 for new caliper plate, which is 3/8". I didn't turn any material off the face of the hub because I wanted to space the front wheels out just a little bit more. (The rotor moves them out .297) If you turn .161 off the hub face, then the caliper lugs would line up with the upright lugs perfectly and you wouldn't need to machine a step into the caliper plate like I did. I ran some stress analysis, just for fun. The caliper plate is under a hypothetical 1.2 G braking force (about 1200 ft-lbs at the wheel.)
