Where to get slotted&drilled rotors turned

Where to get slotted&drilled rotors turned

I know that it takes a special kind of laith to do it and that it cant be done at a NAPA and such. does anyone know a good palce to have them turned in the Phoenix,AZ area? Also, is there a special type of pad to use on these performance rotors? thnx

Any place that can turn rotors can do it.

Yeah, you don't need a special lathe to do them. However, most places will refuse to do them because of the added wear on the cutting bit.

so, then is it best to find a machine shop of some sort to do the job?

Any machine shop or other place that has a machine to turn rotors can do them. If you have any questions if they will do them or not, call and ask. I know where I worked my boss was picky about cutting cross drilled because it will tear up the cutting bits more but theres nothing special about cutting them. You might find a place where they have a machine designed to cut a large amount in a single pass and then a guy who tries to actually do that with a crossdrilled rotor and find out the hard way that dont work too well, but I'd say chances are if you talk to them and tell them what you've got and they say ok, take them in.

Axle/Gears: 9 inch 3.90's spooled
try a chevy dealer. I have had to cut some c6 z06 rotors at work. so I know that a dealer can do them or anyone else can. it does no take a different machine.
