Axle flange modification

Car: 92 F-bird, 1965 Goat (GTO for those who don't know what a Goat is.)
Engine: 3.1 V6, 400 w/3 2 bbl's
Transmission: 700-R4, TH350
Axle flange modification

I read on here somewhere that when you use an axle from a drum rear on a disc brake setup, that you have to do some type of axle flange modification. What exactly is involved in this?
