Rotor Interchange
Would the front rotors from a mid 90's Chevy S-10 2wd truck fit a early 80's Z28? Baer_Decela has a part number for the Z28 rotor ( #55008-020) but it is not available through AutoZone. They do however list the rotor for the S-10 (#5550-020) for $159/pair. By pawing through various books and pulling parts off the shelf, it looks like the S-10 rotors are 1/4" larger diameter than the stock Z28 rotor/hub assembly. It also lists the same calipers and brake pads for both vehicles.

Back to the top with this one... I found rotors that will work with early 3rd Gens. For stock replacement drilled and slotted rotors, try to find something for a '95 S-10 Blazer 2WD. I ordered a set from Baer and with a little trimming of the backing plate, they fit the front hubs on my '83. The bearings interchange between the two vehicles, but the seals are different. The rotors for the S-10 have the ring for the ABS which interferes with the backing plate on the Camaro. Just take a pair of wire cutters, a grinder, tin snips, etc and trim it down. Then, once you install your new seals, and wheel bearings, the rotors fit just like they were meant to go on. Another word of advice, when you pick up wheel bearings, get the ones that are all metal, not the Timkens that have a plastic piece on the cone.I had to replace the outer bearings because after 5 minutes of driving the plastic started to distort. I installed the cheaper bearings that have an all metal cone and I didn't have any problems the rest of the day.

In 93 S10 2wd the front brake rotors are the same, and had the option for rear only ABS, so you don't have to cut the ABS ring off. I just put my old cross drilled and slotted rotors onto my S10. Direct swap, even the pads will go.
