Proportioning Valve issue...

Hey guys, i'm having a bit of an issue. I had to take my car to the shop today to have the brakes properly bled, so i figured, what the hell, and i had them install the 1LE prop valve i had laying around. Turns it it doesn't fit. My car is a 91' RS, and the prop valve i have is 140899496. The tech said the threads were different and that it would not fit. Does anyone have any knowlege about this issue, and what the proper valve would be? Thanks.

Is the 10136840 the GM P/N? I am planning for a big brake upgrade for my car, and want to have all the parts lined up. Thanks!

my car is may 89, and the late 89 valve did not fit. so take that information with a grain of salt.
I finally installed the early 1LE valve, and the only difference is A LOT MORE REAR BIAS.

BE CAREFULL IN THE RAIN !!!!

Don't mean to hijack, but I think this issue correlates to the original poster's problem. I have a J65 car that will have the PBRs again like it should. I have the "FX" master which, according to ebmiller, is the 1LE MC. OK, I have a 1LE/drum master on a J65 car, is there ANY way to tell the difference between the 1LE/J65 (same thing according to this: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/brak...t&pagenumber=3)
and the other props? I ask b/c I'm not sure if the prop was swapped too; I also have another prop which came with the 89/10-bolt/PBR brakes I won from ebay...sooo...I'd like not to buy a third prop valve unless they both are wrong.
