Powerbrake???

Powerbrake???

Ok i have heard this from many sources i completely understand this is a camero site but i do need help i have a truck it has disc brakes all the way around and i cannot do a brakestand burnout i have been told its because i have disc brakes in the rear tires can someone explain why disc brakes make it so the tires cannot spin and with drum brakes u can easily burnout??

If the engine has enough power and the gear reduction in the diif is deep enough, you can do a burnout with both types of brakes. The engine should easily overpower the brakes.

The downside is that you're trying to spin the wheels with the brakes applied. This heats up the brakes and causes brake fade. Not to mention spinning street tires and making them slippery.

When a drag car does a burnout in the water box, they use a line lock to hold the front brakes while the rear brakes are released. They also do it with wet tires to keep from chewing off the rubber from doing a dry burnout.

If you can't do a "brake stand", then good. That means you either have not enough torque or really good traction. If you can launch without spinning the tires then that's even better.
