wheel lock

wheel lock

i took my 91 rs to an auto garage to have a full inspection and they said that they couldn't check the brakes because something about a wheel lock. do these cars have a wheels lock? is there a key i need? what is a wheel lock? tell me more about this

a wheel lock is a special lug nut that requires a sepcial "key" socket adapter to remove, it aids in anti-theft. some of these cars came from the factory with them, and you can get them aftermarket. but you need to get the right key,

where

where can i get a wheel lock key if the previous owner doesn't have it?

Have you looked through the car completly for the key.I found mine,thankfully,in the well for the spare tire.Most tire service dealers have the means to remove the locks.Then buying a new set would be your best bet unless the previous owner still has the key.

Buy a cheap socket and hammer on one that is slightly smaller than the locking lug, you can take a set of 4 off in under a minute if you're good.

No picture, however it looks like a socket with a star shaped insert ( or variration) on one end. Just take them off all your wheels and replace with stock lug nuts . Not worth the problems.

how

how do i remove the wheel lock lug nut? it wont come off with the tool in the spare tire compartment

That is why they are called wheel locks. Read some of the Posts telling you how toremove them.
