question for those running C5 front brakes

How far did the C5 rotor push the wheel out from its stock location? I might get new wheels(9.5") and I am trying to decide on a custom backspacing that will give me inner clearance and not stick out past the fender when I swap to the C5 brakes. In the meantime, I will just use a small spacer if it rubs the tierod. I am looking at the 17x9.5 TT2 wheel.

The C5s (C4s, LS1s, etc) will add .300" per side to track width which is the thickness of the rotor hat. Buy wheels with a 3rd gen offset for the fronts, and add .250" of backspacing, IE if they have 4" of BS, get them with 4.25" BS. If you get into offset as well, add positive .250" of offset (move the wheel hub face out). Just make sure to get the math right.

ok soIm figuring a 17x9.5" front wheel with 5.75" backspacing. I started with the 5.5" BS since most guys seem to runthat hear andhave no issues. There is a member here that had 17x9.5" TT2 wheels on his red iroc and he had 5.25" of BS and then added the C5 brakes and they stuck out. He switched the rear wheels which where 5.5" and he said it helped a little but still needed a thin spacer. Ithink he needed the spacer to clear the caliper though and not to move the wheel out due to clearance issues in the wheel well. SO, would it be safe to say that 5.75" of BS would be good for the C5 brakes and not have my wheels sticking out past the wheel well but also no hitting anything insde?

I hope some guys who have larger wheels chime in but that sounds good. Any way you can go to a wheel store and test fit a wheel on the new setup, maybe rent one for a day?

Ok I got some changes to make here. right now Im looking at the Boyds wheels. 18x9 in the front and 18x10 in the rear. either the smoothies IIs or JYDs I think. There the only wheels that comes in a 18x9 and is not over $500 a wheel. Im just trying to see what BS I will need for a 9" wheel AND a C5 brake upgrade. I know the C5 rotor pushes the wheels out another 1/4" so I gotta factor that into the BS when ordering. I get one shot at ordering and I must make sure that the numbers I give will be correct and they will fit AND the rear wheels will have a deeper lip. I figure the backs can have a 6" BS. The fronts Im thinking a 5.25" BS. Does that sound right? All these numbers to figure out and decide on a wheel design are a little overwelming but rewarding sometimes
