4th gen rear swap, brake issues

Im putting a rear end from an 01 ws6 into my 92 RS. I currently have drums, i will be using the disk brakes from the WS6 when i do the swap. here is my problem, what brake hoses do i need to use to connect the hard lines to the calipers? Do i need to get them from a 4th gen or from a 3rd gen with rear disks? My parts store shows an inner and an outer brake hose for the rear brakes of the 4th gen, are there 2 lines per side on these? Ive done many searches and come up with nothing. please help!

I'm just checking PMs now so I don't have time to explain it to you in detail but I'll get back to you on this later this eve.

I usually recommend installing a set of Earls' rear flex lines for this swap. IIRC the stock 4th gen center rear line has too large a fitting to fit the stock 3rd gen line fitting at that point, I can check by the weekend. Here's what I suggest: swap all the lines over for third gen lines, axle lines and all. The 4th gen lines have different fittings on them at the t block and it would just simplify things. If you do this you would then only have one hard line and one flex line per side.

You're looking at a $100 or so investment for a hassle free swap.

Currently, there are no brake lines or hoses on the 4th gen rear. So i should use the hardlines on my car now? then would i just need one flex line for each side, and would i need 3rd or 4th gen? i was looking at the calipers the other day and they say PBR on them, are these aftermarket? thank you for all your help.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you..

You can use the hard lines but you'll have to shorten them and reflare them to get them to work, I know others have used their stock drum lines but I'm unsure of how they did it exactly. Since you have no hoses or lines yet just go with a set for a disc rear car, install the disc rear flex lines and you're all set. I have all lines if you need them and my custom LS1 conversion brake cables are being made as we speak so the swap will soon be totally bolt on. PBR is just the name of the manufacturer, they make a LOT of calipers for all types of cars, especially 3rd and 4th gens from '89-02. They're factory parts.

hey, ed i just did ny rear ls1 swap and the stock drum lines were too long, as i was told and expected, all i did was just bend a loop in the lines, before the springs, and it shortened the line perfectly for use with 3rd gen rear disc flex lines, though i did swap the left one for the right one
