no back brakes
hey guys my back brakes are completly shot and im currently only using the front brakes to stop... the rear brake also leaks fluid when i stop hard and fast.
could this cause damage to my front brakes?
the brake has alot of play in it compared to other cars i've driven but has no air in the lines.

hate to break it to you, but if you have a leaking hose, you have air in the lines. I would just fix it. I can't see it damaging anything, except causing more stress and wear on the front brakes and suspension, but you should fix it ASAP for the sake of safety.

fix the leak problem, and bleed the system out
adjust the rear shoes out manually-
check the adjusters- make sure they arent frozen in which they are commonly-
if so then buy new ones at a parts store
may need new shoes while youre at it, also inexpensive
if the leak is coming from inside the drums then you have a blonw wheel cylinder- also inexpensive and will require new shoes and may also require a length of 3/16" steel tubing in case the line fitting is too rusted and wont come off without jut cutting the line instead of removing it from the W/C in which is also a common problem especially in the salt rust belt
this is all routine maintainence and for safetys sake
good luck

it must be the wheel cylinder.. it leaks from the brake itself not the line.
would this cause the weak peddle?
