Fixed Front Brake Lockup
I finally got around to taking care of this problem. '88 bird 2.8L 72,000 miles. I own this car ~2yrs now & previous owner had new calipers & brake lines installed. This car has been a bear to drive in the rain and worse in snow - Tap the brakes & the front wheels would like right up.
I read a lot on this site about similar problems and most pointed to bad rubber brake lines & caliper issues. I ordered OEM Delco parts - calipers & brake lines & the best pads I could purchase. I found the Delco brake hoses to be a slightly larger diameter than the aftermarket units on the car. After installing all new parts & properly bleeding the brakes, the lockups are history. I am a firm believer in OEM parts when u can afford them. Sometimes they hurt, but only once.
