Difference between 92 rear disc's and 93-97 rear disc's?
I called to order a Strande 12 bolt today and they were telling me that there is a difference between the 92 rear disc's and the 93-97 rear disc's. I always thought that they were the same. My rears have the PBR calipers. I heard that GM started putting the PBR's on the 91 and 92's because they had run there supply out and the PBR's were going on the 4th Gen's so they started to use them. Any replies appreciated.

The calipers themselves are essentially the same. IIRC, the backing plates are a bit beefier. The rotors may be a bit thicker. A search will no doubt provide more specific info.

The PBR calipers were used on F-bodies from 89-97. I am not sure if the parts are exactly the same, but they are compatible with each other.
