dumb question..but what is a caliper abutment
hey.. what is a caliper abutment.. ive been wondering since i ready to bolt my c5 calipers up.. im worried i dont have and abutment.. but then again i dont even know what this is..

The function of this part is to mount the caliper to the spindle, while providing a means for the single-acting caliper to slide upon its guide pins.
I had this thing in my favorites for a ref.

For the C5 it's an OEM part, you should be able to get it literally anywhere

If you go onto autozones website, they call them "caliper brackets" but I've also heard of them called "caliper carriers".
