Re: E-Brake HELP
Ugh...I don't envy you.
Search the archives, and you will find posts about the e-brakes. After $900 and all new brake parts on my car, EXCEPT for the cables themselves, by my e-brake still won't work, and that is even after taking it to the dealer for them to check out as a last-ditch effort. As I recall, earlier versions have an adjustment, later versions are supposedly self-adjusting. But again, a search will be a good first step. My own ordeal is in the archives, and a lot of people responded to me and tried to help me.

Re: E-Brake HELP
Your 86 should is adjustable. The adjustment piece is above the drive shaft toward the mid-section of the car.

Re: E-Brake HELP
Yeah man, I just bought the rebuild kit for the old style calipers from
gmdirect.com. They are pretty straight forward, and I have never done a brake rebuild before. Just make sure you do one side at a time incase you need to see how it all goes back together.
Quick ? for the rest of you. I know that the old style calipers stay adjusted properly by constantly using the ebrakes. Does this also apply for the pbr style calipers??
