What am I supposed to do for a prop valve now?

So right now I have rear cast iron disk brakes from an 84 Camaro and the stock cast iron brakes that came on my 91. I have the factory disk/drum prop/combo valve and I'm fixing to order C5 front brakes and when I eventually get to do an LS1 swap I'm going to swap in the 4th gen disk rear. I want to get the right valve so the rear brakes I have now work properly and when I get the rear LS1s that they work properly too. Right now I don't think my rear brakes are doing much because when I put on the e-brake it doesn't do much. If I remeber right I was told to get a 1LE valve, but Chevy doens't make them any more. So what am I supposed to do now? There are some GM disk/disk combo valves on eBay but I don't know if it'll work on my car.

I just picked up a 91-92 1LE valve at the dealer a few weeks ago.

Hmm. What part number did you give them? How much was it?

I just walked into the parts dept and asked for a 91 or 92 ( I forget which year I asked for, but it was either 91 or 92) prop valve for a 1LE car. I have the part # at home, somewhere. It was only like 68 bux.

That's not bad. I guess I'll call the dealership again and ask for the specific part instead of just giving them the part number.

Just found the invoice, it was part # 10164112. It lists for $118.40 and I got it for $64.67.

Re: What am I supposed to do for a prop valve now?

I must have had an old part number then. I'll have to call the dealers on Monday since the parts departments are closed now.

Does anyone know if the 1LE prop valve will cause a problem with my cast iron rear disks? It'll probably be a while before I get PBR/LS1 brakes back there because I can't afford to do the LS1 swap yet. I have to have working rear brakes or I don't think I'll pass the emissions dyno test.

Damn all the dealers here want the $118.40. Sam Taylor Buick/Cadillac in Florida has it for $65 + shipping though. I'm a little weary of gmpartsdirect.com. I've heard they take forever to ship. Sam Taylor has a good reputation so I suppose I'll order it from them before this thing goes extinct.
