A34 bearings on GTA?

i went to replace both the inner and outer wheel bearings on my 88 GTA. from what i read here, and what i saw on the parts store websites, it should be an A6 bearing on the inside, and A3 on the outside.

well to get to the point, the A3 bearings were too big, and when i swapped them out for A34's, they fit fine. is it possible that the previous owner put the wrong brakes on the car? i always thoguht the spindle size determined the bearing size and not the rotors... guess i was wrong.

Re: A34 bearings on GTA?

A34 sounds right. The bearing size is determined by the hub and the spindle, not just one of them. I think the A3 is for the 1LE fronts.

hrm... cuz O'reilly auto parts computer had A3's for 'trans am', and A34 for all else. now looking back on napa's page, it says A3's for 'performance package', which i guess on a brake part, would indeed be 1LE
