spindles and upgrades (technical)

any ideas on how hard it would be to adapt a set of 3rdgen (89 Rs) spindles and calipers onto a a 1962 Chevy II? I know it can be done but i dont have the moog book in front of me to see the differences in suspension and what modifications would be necessary.

Im striping a 89 RS and one of my female friends has an old nova and I dont wanna see her running around with old drums on the front wheels and as 3rdgen calipers cost a whole 15 bucks from cardone,, ill do the swap for her if it possible with the parts available to me.

You've got more faith than I do..

Given that a Chevy 2 is a long arm - short arm system, and the 3rd gen is a modified MacPherson strut with only one (the lower) arm, I'd say you're going to need ALOT of acetylene to make that one work. The spindles don't even nearly dimly vaguely have a whiff of a hint of a glimpse of a clue of any similarity, except that they were both made by GM. Not only that, they're a little bit different.

I could be wrong of course (well, I AM "wrong", but I mean what I'm saying could be wrong too); but somehow I doubt that the original poster just has one of those kits available to him, at a price such that the cost advantage of $15 calipers has any real meaning to the cost of the project.

We all want to do cool stuff for cheeeep. But sometimes, there is no substitute for either doing an enormous amount of work, including lots of trial-and-error, which usually involves buying lots of parts & materials, and trying over and over again until we get it right; or paying for somebody else's experience where they've already worked out the bugs.
