1LE info wanted

Okay, I have searched evrywhere, but there is too much conflicting info. So I just want nice clear answers, since I am on the other side of the world and info on F-bods is hard too get and parts even harder. I want to upgrade the brakes, and I was thinking that 1LE would be a good way to go. What I want to know is, do they fit under GTA wheels and what are the parts I will need. I understand that the calipers are made by PBR, they are an aussie company and are not too far from me, so if I can get the part number I can source the calipers (and hopefully the discs) locally, since heavy items cost heaps to send over here.
Thanks for your help.

Re: 1LE info wanted

I have LS1 brakes that fit under my GTA rims. It might be a better option, and it would probably cost less...

The sticky at the top of the page may provide the info you're looking for.

Well actually I did look at that, it's not clear. The whole idea of this thread is to NOT fill it with a whole lot of people saying "search" since that's all you get when you do search. As for the LS1 brakes, the problem is that you need to use a spacer, and you can't legally use a spacer on a car in Australia unless it had them from standard. I want clear straighforward info, if you don't have any, DON'T post

Humm, what happened to the good old days when effort received a thank-you even if that effort wasn't particularly helpful. Apparently, manners are a thing lost. Good luck.

Well I am sorry if you felt slighted, but I find it frustrating that the main help that you get on this site is "search" but when you do, every thread is full of "search" responses. Or the thread is 3 years old and half of the attachments or links don't work. I thought that made it fairly clear that I had searched, including reading the stickies, but there is too much other info on different setups and not much one the 1LE.
Anyway, if anyone has any pics they would be appreciated too, as I think the calipers were used on some of the early-mid ninties Hi-Po Commodores here.

Re: 1LE info wanted

Its not all the complicated bro. Just buy some stock third gen 1LE rotors and pads then either mod your own spindles and make brackets or buy some already done. Contact ebmiller if you need resources on stock 1LE parts

Re: 1LE info wanted

Where did you hear that you have to use a spacer with LS1 brakes? I have NEVER heard that.

Re: 1LE info wanted

OK, so if I get 1LE rotors and calipers it will bolt up to a modded spindle? I will have to get all the parts together, and I'll have to mod my spindles since you can't just go and get thirdgen parts easlily. I thought there was a caliper mount or adapter that I will need too. As for the spacer with LS1 brakes, I heard that you need a spacer if you run GTA wheels, if that's wrong then maybe LS1s would be the way to go.

If you get the rotors and calipers and the caliper carriers and adapter brackets it will bolt to a modified spindle.
