brake fluid 'fountain' in master cylinder reservoir

Hi,

I have a question about my '88 Firebird.

Is it normal for the brake fliud in the master cylinder reservoir to spurt up like a fountain when the brake pedal is pressed with the cap removed?

Thanks.

I think we all did that the first time we bled brakes. So worried about pumping it dry, we thought it would be a good idea to leave the top off so we could moniter it. Then ya hit the pedal and .
