Re: Booster delete

My guess is that you will have to make something up. The 3rd gen pedals are held in by the booster and the master is held on the booster with studs. So even if you find a master that kind of fits right you are going to have to do quite a bit to get it to work. As far as I know no one has done this on a 3rd gen, I could be wrong but I havent seen anything to go along with it.

Re: Booster delete

This has been done many times on a thirdgen. People just cut the studs off the booster, or get some studs that have the same thread, weld them to a metal plate, I guess you could bolt them to it, reinforce the area of the firewall more after that. Then adjust the pivot point on the pedal by drilling/modding some how so you get more torque arm, this makes it easier for you to push, and thats it. Keep searching there are a lot of guys that have done this to their show cars, or to their drag cars.

Re: Booster delete

I am not 100%. Just look up stuff about other cars that have manual kits. like Novas, and first gens. Then see what those kits look like. It will give you a better idea about what is going on. Then from there ask people here more specific questions, and your confusion will be sorted out much faster.

Hey Sinister Z,

How do the manual brakes work? Much pedal effort needed? I like the fit, looks really clean.

Thanks in advance,

Re: Booster delete

You just have to get used to pushing a little harder...that's all! when I had the booster in there I would have to pump it a couple of times because of the big cam there was no vacuum at all "hence why I went with the manual brakes" but if you want to keep the booster you can always buy a small after market one to save space

Re: Booster delete

Hey sisnister, your car is amasing first of all. Second, can you tell me everything about your power steering pump, box, and braided lines/fittings. I want a setup just like that but don't know where to begin. I have a manual box right now, but I am getting kinda sick of it. Thanks.

Part #s would be great, but if you can just help in any way it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Booster delete

In those pics that I put up I have the March v-belt pulleys and the original power streeing pump that I had powder-coated silver, I do have true braided steel lines in there and it looks like I have 3 90 degree fittings. those pictures are from last year.
I now have a complete new Serpentine Pulley set-up in the car which eliminates belt slip and here are some new pics that I just took today about 10 minutes ago of the Master Cylinder & the new Billet Power Steering Canister with a close up on the Fussell Fittings
